Postcard from Chicago

Chicago, Nov 2009. After reading “Devil In The White City” by Erik Lawson, I felt truly compelled to go and see the place for myself. This photograph was taken as I set out to explore the city centre on my first day – the sun was just rising on a cool but clear day, giving a dreamy glow to the proceedings. I absolutely loved Chicago: the brilliant architectural achievements in the sky balanced up with the grimy darkness of the streets under The Loop. The aqua river and the combination of high art museums and low jazz nightclubs. Chicago has it all, it and carried it off with typical Midwestern brashness.

If you've made it this far down the post I bet you've got something to say. Go on, say it.
