Postcard from Bavaria

Sept 2011. Munich, Germany.

Bavaria is often described as “stereotypical” Germany. It’s certainly the Germany of a lot of historical cliches: the Oktoberfest, the fantasy castles, the quaint villages. Munich on the other hand is a thoroughly updated city – grand but modern.

While not as quaint as some of the other cities I’ve come across in central Europe, Munich certainly possess some charisma. Sadly our packed itinerary only allowed us a quick exploration of the centre city points, but it’s definitely worth a second visit sometime soon.
